Bungie, the developer behind the original Halo trilogy and the upcoming Destiny, has revealed several new bits of information about the game through their always informative Mail Sack. The developer discusses various topics, including this interesting description of The Tower, the last free city on the Earth in the game:

"The Tower is a friendly and familiar place to regroup, rearm, and repair before heading out on your next great adventure. As a Guardian, the Tower is a refuge - a sanctuary - but it is also bustling with all the activities you would expect to find in the last safe city on Earth."

When asked about NASA and the influence the organization has on the development team as a whole, Bungie revealed that the space exploration organization plays a huge role in the team's growth and creative process.

"We don't speak to NASA, they speak to us. We're pretty star struck, and they continue to be a constant source of inspiration for us."

Bungie provided some interesting hints about its plans for E3 (June 9-11) and Pax Prime (August 30-September 2), As for specific announcement times, Bungie explains that the best place to find out that information will be on Bungie's website and on the forums. In regards to Pax Prime, Bungie notes that employees will be at the event, given that the developer is located in the area. They may, however, attend as fans, and did not confirm any presentations for Destiny at the event.

Destiny is expected sometime in 2014, and is currently confirmed only for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and the Xbox 360. However, more consoles are expected to be announced soon, perhaps when Microsoft reveals the next-gen Xbox on May 21.
