E3 Is normally the time when developers and publishers take time to announce blockbuster games and other major news stories for the year. While Nintendo and 2K Games have announced that they are trimming down their presence at the event, others are ready to step up and make an impact. One of those companies is Konami, who intend to use E3 as a way to introduce new information about the Metal Gear series, most likely more info about the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5.

A document from Konami dealing with year-end financial results indicated that the company plans to use the expo, which runs from June 9-11, as a platform to talk about the fabled series. However, Konami did not mention a specific Metal Gear game that they will be promoting. While the company will most likely bring new footage of Metal Gear Solid 5 (which is made up of both Metal Gear Solid: ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain), other Metal Gear games could be announced by the company.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has been confirmed for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, indicating that E3 may be the time to announce it's release date, considering the systems have less than a year before their next-gen replacements arrive. E3 would also be an excellent opportunity for Konami to announce more details about Ground Zeroes, the sequel's prologue section.

Here is to hoping that E3 may clarify some of the questions about the games.
