Forget exercise and healthy eating to expand your life span. An 105-year-old woman from Texas says the key to longevity is ... wait for it .... bacon.

That's right, Pearl Cantrell told NBC affiliate KRBC that the secret to living so long is eating lots and lots of swine.

"I love bacon; I eat it every day," said the century old plus grandmother. "I don't feel as old as I am, that's all I can say," she added.

Cantrell, who lives in central Texas and loves to dance, celebrated her 105th birthday with a three-day party that included over 200 guests.

Since the mother of seven retired from a life of physical labor, she has had the opportunity to eat all the bacon that she wants.

"I love bacon, I could eat it for every meal - and I do!" she said.

When Oscar Mayer found out about Cantrell's love of bacon, the company gave her the honor of riding in one of its iconic Wienermobiles and made a bacon delivery to Cantrell's home.

"We've seen a lot of stories on the road, but nothing quite like this one, so we're excited to be here," an Oscar Meyer spokesperson told Big Country Homepage. "We know she's an inspiration. Pearl is an inspiration for the community, and her friends and family. So we had to make a special stop here for her today."

Oscar Mayar also gave her a huge supply of bacon.

A research study from the University of Zurich published by the journal BMC Medicine in March found that eating little or no red meat can be a risk factor for early death. However, the same study found that eating too much bacon increases the risk of bowel cancer.
