The spin-off of the popular Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon, may become a franchise all it's own, according to the voice actor for the game's hero. Michael Biehn, star of 'The Terminator' and 'Aliens,' was recently interviewed on Major Nelson Radio, where he revealed that the game's creative director was excited about the possibilities for the game.
"He was pretty jacked up...He was going into a meeting today to, you know, I think he wants to turn it into some sort of franchise. He's got a sequel in mind."
This is good news for fans of Blood Dragon, the game that does away with Far Cry 3's grittiness and sober atmosphere and replaces it with retro cliches and over-the-top action. Biehn has claimed that, despite the fact that the game launched just this past week, he has been getting mobbed by rabid Blood Dragon fans.
"I did an Aliens game last year that just, kind of, nobody really talked about it very much and I never really heard too much about it...I heard when it came out. Nobody ever came up to me afterwards and said, 'Oh, that Aliens game was really good' or whatever. I'm telling you, I have more people approaching me now on the streets about this video game. Way more than they do now about, like, 'Oh, weren't you the guy that was in The Terminator?' Or 'Weren't you the guy that was in The Victim?' Or 'Weren't you the guy that was in Tombstone?'"
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon has been received very well by critics, noting the game's humor as one of it's strongest attributes. The game is available for download for the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and PC.
