Weeks after confessing the real status of their relationship, world's no.1 golfer Tiger Woods and skiing world champ Lindsey Vonn will walk on the red carpet together in one of the most prestigious events of the year at Met Ball on Monday in New York City sources told Us weekly exclusively.
According to the magazine, the 37-year-old Woods and his gold-medal winning girlfriend will be attending the event as guests of Vogue, which will also be dressing the two celebrated athletes.
Although the fashion designer for the couples' dresses remains unknown, the couple's presence alone in the event is enough to generate some buzz around the sports and entertainment industry.
This will mark the first time Woods attends a gathering with a date since his controversial breakup with ex-wife Elin Nordegren in 2010.
Woods, who will play in this week's Players Championship, opened up in March about his relationship with the Winter Olympics icon and confirmed that they are actually dating.
"Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become close and are now dating...We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple," Woods wrote on his Facebook account.
The 28-year old Vonn silently ended his four-year marriage with fellow skier Thomas Vonn in November of 2011.
Vonn, who will defend her downhill title in next year's Winter Olympics in Sochi, has been very open about her relationship with Woods. In fact, Woods has already introduced Vonn to his kid Sam, 5, and Charlie, 4.
"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods," Vonn wrote on her facebook account. "Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months, and it has made me very happy."
2013 has been a wonderful year for Woods, who has shown flashes of old self this year. Though Woods hasn't won any major since 2008, the world's most popular golfer has a great shot at winning in the next three Grand Slam events.
