An exclusive update for the iPhone 5 has begun to rollout.
The update, listed as iOS 6.1.4, contains "updated audio profile for speakerphone," as has a size of 11.5MB.
According to Forbes' Adrian Kingsley-Hughes, "Having downloaded the update and experimented with the speakerphone I can't find any changes, so I assume they are behind the scenes."
The update apparently does not feature any security fixes or patches, such as the long-troubled lock-screen bypass bug seen in iOS 6.1.3.
To update to iOS 6.1.4, iPhone users can tap "Settings," to "General," and select "Software Update." iPhone 5 users must have Wi-Fi enabled to install the update.
Latinos Post tested the timing of the installation. Starting at 3:35 p.m. EST, the update initially stated it would complete in six minutes before scrambling to different minutes in random order. By 3:38 p.m., intial installation was completed and went on to verify. The iPhone 5 was functional again by 3:43 p.m.
The update comes as speculation for iOS 7 strengthens ahead of Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference.
