With the season four finale quickly approaching, the students at Mystic Falls High prepare for graduation. In the bloody wake of prom, they slowly pick up the shattered pieces that Elena and Silas have left behind as they attempt to regain control of the cursed town. We know that there will be at least one death during the gradation finale, and the way things have been going recently, we can expect even more along the way.
This week's episode, "She's Come Undone," will find Elena (Nina Dobrev) in dire circumstances as Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) torture her in hopes of provoking her emotions. What kind of torture you ask? The best kind: vampire torture. Depriving Elena of blood didn't work in prior episodes, so this time the brothers are taking it to a whole new level. After removing her daylight ring, Damon and Stefan expose her to sunlight, watching with painful eyes as she catches fire.
That has to work. She's a vampire. Nothing could be more painful, right? Wrong. Elena is clearly in pain, however it's not enough to get her humanity back. She knows that Damon and Stefan love her too much to cause her any irreparable harm. Katherine (Dobrev) on the other hand, won't let her off so easy. Damon and Stefan decide to call upon the unlikely accomplice to help them tame the unhinged Elena.
If Katherine's methods don't work, Damon may have to take drastic measures to get through to her. As previously reported, he believes that killing Matt (Zach Roerig) may be the only way to tap into her feelings. Elena interfered and saved Matt from his imminent death in the Wicker Bridge accident, and Damon believes that putting his life in danger once again could provoke her dormant emotions.
