Respawn Entertainment, the studio formed by the creators of a little franchise you may have heard about, Call of Duty, are allegedly creating a new game exclusive to the next-gen Xbox, with a version for the current Xbox 360 also a possibility. According to a report by Kotaku, the game will be a battle of Davids versus Goliaths, with Goliaths in this case meaning giant robotic mech warriors that the Davids will be able to control.
The game will be multiplayer-focused online shooter, and will focus on two teams of foot soldiers, the so-called Davids, fighting it out. There will be a limited number of the heavily-armed giants, called Titans, and they will surprisingly quick, meaning that whatever team can secure the most of them will have an advantage. However, the foot soldiers will have enough firepower to take out a giant Titan by themselves, if they need to.
In other next-gen console news, the PlayStation 4 is getting a ringing endorsement from Quantic Dream co-CEO Guillaume de Fondaumiere. Speaking to Gamespot, the Heavy Rain and the upcoming Beyond: Two Souls Developer is very much impressed with the technology behind the PlayStation 4.
"There are limitations on the PlayStation 3 and there will be limitations on PlayStation 4...With the PlayStation 4, it's something that really is more like the PC of next year or two years."
Quantic Dream is creating a new game exclusively for the PlayStation 4, which seeks to combine the studio's brand of high quality narratives with the next-gen's ability to create even higher quality graphics. The game may even have multiplayer, something that would be a first for Quantic Dream, which typically develops cinematic, single-player only games.
Both console exclusive games seemed destined to be potential hits for their respective consoles, based on the limited amount of information provided about them. Perhaps as we get closer and closer to the release date of both consoles will be see the games true potentials..
