It appears gamers will not have to wait long for news about the next Call of Duty game. According to new promotional material blueprint for Gamestop stores, the next Call of Duty will be revealed on May 1. This news comes from a leaked photo given to IGN.
This lines up with previous instances for the series to reveal new games, as the last Call of Duty game was revealed on the exact same day last year, during the NBA playoffs. While Activision has yet to announce what the new Call of Duty game will be called, many different sources are saying that the game will be called Call of Duty: Ghosts.
While the Call of Duty may be close to being announced, the last game in the series, Black Ops 2, still has plenty of life left in the game. The new Uprising DLC pack was recently released for the Xbox 360 version of the game, with the PlayStation 3 and PC versions of the game receiving the DLC May 16. The Uprising pack includes four new maps and the Mob of the Dead zombie mode, which features Ray Liotta, Chazz Palminteri, Michael Madsen and Joe Pantoliano lending their voices to four playable characters trapped in a ghoul infested Alcatraz Island.
Though the next Call of Duty may still be unknown for now, gamers can expect the game to have some level of microtransactions involved. While many sources may point to the new game being subtitled Ghosts, it is unclear what exactly the plot or setting would be for the game. The good news is that gamers will only have to wait less than a week for more news on the next Call of Duty title. Until then, gamers will just have to wait and speculate as they continue to play Black Ops 2.
