T-Mobile is gearing up to launch its Nokia Lumia smartphone as soon as this weekend, courtesy of the Home Shopping Network (HSN).
The Lumia 521, exclusive under T-Mobile, will be available at Microsoft Retail Stores on May 11 for $149. Walmart will also sell the Windows Phone 8 smartphone under T-Mobile's no contract plan for $30 per month with unlimited Internet and text plan.
But potential customers don't have to wait till May 11 to grab onto the devices.
HSN will introduce the Lumia 521 during its bi-annual Innovation Weekend tomorrow, April 27. The showcase will be the first time a T-Mobile and Nokia device participated at HSN's event.
While offering the Lumia 521 for $149.95, HSN will also include a car charger and screen protector along with the free shipping and handling when purchasing the smartphone.
The Lumia 521, which is 4G enabled, has a 4-inch touchscreen and 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording. When it comes to memory, the smartphone has 8GB of internal storage with 512MB of RAM. A microSD card slot is available for up to 64GB of additional storage. The battery capacity for the Windows Phone 8 smartphone is 1,430mAh.
Nokia applications that will come preinstalled in the Lumia 521 include Nokia Music, Cinemagraph, Creative Studio, Panorama, Smart Shoot and HERE Drive, Maps and Transit.
