After months of agonizing anticipation following her Super Bowl halftime performance, Beyoncé has finally given fans what they've been waiting for: a possible first single off her upcoming album. Now, let's not get too excited. We've seen this before. At first, the star singer led fans to believe that her song featured in her Pepsi commercial, "Grown Woman," was to be the first single, but she later changed her mind, holding out for something even better. She even self-released a full track, titled "Bow Down / I Been On," but that too proved to be nothing more than a flicker of hope. This time around, however, it may be the real deal.
In her latest commercial for H&M, Beyoncé gives fans a first listen of her new song "Standing on the Sun." In the 90-second commercial, she's featured in a scandalous bikini as her backup dancers splash in the surf and throw sand into the warm Bahaman sun, all while sporting garments from H&M's new summer 2013 collection.
In her Pepsi commercial, Beyoncé shared a tidbit of "Grown Woman," and although many fans searched far and wide for the full version, it never appeared. Hopefully that won't be the case this time around, but you never know. Beyoncé has been frustratingly allusive in regards to her next album and subsequent first single.
There's no official word on whether or not "Standing on the Sun" will be featured on the new album or released as the first single, but new information will surface in the wake of her new commercial.
Beyoncé recently kicked off a world tour that will make its way to the U.S. on June 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Hopefully we'll be jamming to some brand new, fully released tunes by then. What better way to start off the summer?
