With "Iron Man 3" and "Man of Steel" right around the corner, it's easy to lose track of one of America's other most loved super heroes. Sure, Iron Man and Superman are some of the greatest we've ever seen, but if you take the time to look away from the big screen this summer and glance up towards the sky, you may catch a glimpse of the human spider soaring through the cityscape. That's right, Spider-Man is back and in action as production on "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" begins.

Now don't get too excited. The official release is still over a year away, but in the meantime, the first two "Amazing Spider-Man 2" still have dropped. Columbia Pictures is certainly wasting no time in getting fans amped for the upcoming sequel.

The first photo features 27-year-old actor Dane DeHaan, who plays Harry Osborn in the film. He tweeted a photo of himself in full "Spider-Man" gear on Sunday. Director Marc Webb also posted a photo from Sunday's shoot featuring Jaime Foxx as Max Dillon. Just last week we caught a glimpse of Foxx in his blue Electro makeup, but this time around we see him as his character's normal self.

"Electro is a great character," Foxx told Entertainment Tonight in an interview during the early stages of production. "He's a... genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns on it."

In Spider-Man "reality," Electro is a struggling electrician named Maxwell Dillon. Amidst his sorrows, he's one day struck by lightning and becomes "capable of controlling vast amounts of electricity."

As photos slowly start to leak, fans are already counting down the days until an official trailer is released, but that's a long ways off. This summer, it's more likely to see Spider-Man flying through the streets of Manhattan than an "Amazing Spider-Man 2" trailer. But while we keep our fingers crossed, the set photos will have to suffice for now.
