Bungie, in their latest edition of the Mail Sack, discusses the role Bungie.Net will play for their upcoming game, Destiny, as well as having the bar set so high by fans for the latest game from the former Halo Developers.

Bungie says that fans who use Bungie.net will be able to do the same tasks as before, such as track statistics and communicate with other gamers and Bungie employees alike.

"Bungie.net was designed to provide the players of Halo with a bunch of ways to extend and share their experiences. Those priorities won't change with Destiny...It'll be a great place to maintain a relationship with the people who are making this game, with the other people who are playing this game, and even with yourself as a character in this game."

Bungie also hinted that the game may have some sort of mobile presence, or even appear on a handheld console (the game is rumored to be coming to the PlayStation Vita).

"If armed with the right gadgets, no matter where life finds you, the world of Destiny will be very close--at your fingertips, even..."

Furthermore, Bungie assured fans that, even after the success of the Halo franchise, the company is working hard on Bungie, and wants to continue performing at a high level on the new game.

"It's important to take pride in one's work, and we do, but I don't see anyone here resting on their laurels...The ancients are hell-bent on outdoing themselves. The newbies are possessed with a hunger to prove that they truly deserve to keep the company into which they've been invited. The bar gets raised every time Bungie ships a game...It's been said that the fall could kill you. You'll be the judges of our vault."

Destiny is expected to be released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox 360, which a release date currently unknown.
