UPDATE: The AP reports that the Watertown shooting suspects may have in fact been the alleged culprits behind the Boston Marathon explosion. Multiple suspects have engaged in a gunfight with authorities in Watertown, Massachusetts, ignited by the murder of a MIT campus police officer. Authorities engaged in a manhunt for the assailants, who were reportedly equipped with grenades, and allegedly threw explosives from their vehicle during the skirmish, according to WCVB.

While some suspects are in custody, network reporter Sean Kelley notes that police are still actively looking for another individual and remain on high alert. MIT students and residents of Laurel and Dexter in Watertown are advised to take shelter and remain cautious. The SunTimes reports that unexploded IEDs may remain on the street.
