Will he or won't he? That is the main question surrounding superstar Cristiano Ronaldo: "Will he leave Real Madrid?" The second question that crops up is "where would he go?" Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are usually listed as potentially destinations but PSG recently took itself out of the running when a few high end operations personnel dispelled the idea. Or did they? According to former PSG striker Pauleta, Ronaldo could very well end up playing in Paris.
"I think Cristiano Ronaldo joining PSG is possible," Pauleta said according to Zeenews. "The people in charge at PSG are very competent. They are able to buy a player if they think it's necessary. Cristiano Ronaldo is a spectacular player and I hope that Paris can recruit more players like him and [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic in the future."
He noted that a Ronaldo acquisition would be huge for the team's fan base. "I would love to see another Portuguese player at PSG. It would be huge for the Portuguese community in Paris," he added.
Paris Saint-Germain director Leonardo recently stated that he did not anticipate the acquisition of the Real Madrid superstar.
"On Ronaldo, there has never been an offer," Leonardo said. "I've never heard anything about Rooney or Cavani either. I do not rule out big signings, but only if there is a suitable opportunity. We do want a larger squad with adequate cover in all areas in order to avoid the sort of problems we had in January in midfield, with all the injuries and suspensions."
Ronaldo has had a tremendous year for Real Madrid. He leads the Champions league with 11 goals and has already scored 27 goals in 2013; he leads rival Lionel Messi by five goals in the calendar year.
