The Pokémon franchise has provided a new glimpse into Mewtwo's new form, which will make its anime debut in July and video game debut in "Pokémon X and Y" in October.

Mewtwo is scheduled to make its return in the film "Extreme Speed Genesect: Mewtwo's Awakening" (not the official English translation) on July 13, and with the comeback is a new form. An 11-second video was uploaded on the Pokémon YouTube page showing the Genetic Pokémon transform into its new look.

While the name of the new form is still unknown, it is confirmed it is not part of an evolution.

The new video comes 10 days after Game Freak Director Junichi Masuda made the confirmation on the Japanese Pokémon side show "Pokémon Smash."

"Extreme Speed Genesect: Mewtwo's Awakening" depicts Mewtwo battling five Genesects, a new breed of Pokémon created by the evil organization Team Plasma. An American release date of the film has not been confirmed but it will likely launch at the end of the year in time for "Pokémon X and Y."

With the confirmation of Mewtwo's new form not being an evolution, this reverts to the new Pokémon count from seven to six, along with starters Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie, legends Xerneas and Yveltal, and latest Eevee evolution Sylveon.

"Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" are set to be released in Australia, Europe, North America, and Japan in October 2013, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
