Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Season eight of the Showtime hit show "Dexter" may prove to be deadly as guest star Yvonne Strahovski has been confirmed to reprise her role as love interest, Hannah McKay. Those familiar with the show understand that this could mean trouble as Hannah may have a settle to score both with Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and sister Deborah Morgan (Jennifer Carpenter).
At age 15, Hannah was an accomplice to her boyfriend's killing spree but denied her involvement and received immunity when she testified against him. Her ways became questionable as more people in her life began dying (both her late husband and mentor). Fast forward several years and McKay crosses paths with Dexter when Miami Metro homicide wants a DNA sample. She later works closely with him to find the bodies of her now dead ex-boyfriend's victims (he committed suicide). Upon finding them, Dexter realizes she herself may have been the murderer.
Planning to "take care of things" the best way he knows how, Dexter drugs Hannah creating a kill room - but releases her when he's unable to end her life. A relationship develops as Hannah and Dexter have more in common through their dark behavior. But when another person mysteriously dies tied to Hannah, Dexter's sister Lieutenant Deborah Morgan gets involved - secretly asking Dexter to bring "justice" to Hannah as she lacks the evidence necessary to make an arrest.
Their blossoming, twisted relationship comes to a halt when Hannah poisons Deborah in attempts to keep Dexter for herself. On trial for one of her recent murders (Dexter gave Deborah evidence), she took a substance that causes a seizure and later escapes from the hospital.
Will she run back into the arms of her love, or wreak havoc on his life for turning her in? And with Dexter and Deborah's severed relationship, will she finish the job she started in poisoning her? When asked what character Hannah McKay's intentions are for season eight, Yvonne Strahovski isn't letting anything slip. "We will just have to wait and see," jokes Strahovski
