Salvador Mejia confirmed that the theme song to William Levy's "La Tempestad" will be sung by Alejandro Fernandez and Christina Aguilera.
The producer announced the news on Monday during the show "Hoy." Mejia said that he was very excited and that it was going to be an incredible song. He added that when the song launches audiences and will find it catchy and highly enjoyable.
He described the song as starting very romantic and then being very stormy like "La Tempestad." He als stated that he wanted to get two superstars and that it was important that they were able to do something that was never done before. Mejia also thanked the record companies for their support.
When asked if Aguilera would sing in Spanish, Mejia said yes.
The producer also announced that Daniela Romo would interpret another song for the telenovela. He said that he was happy she would participate because she had an amazing voice that would add to the soundtrack of the series.
La Tempestad is currently in production with Levy and Ximena Navarrete starring as the leads and Ivan Sanchez and Laura Carmine as the antagonists.
Aguilera recently left "The Voice" in order to continue her singing career. Recently she recorded with Pitbull and Cee Lo Green and sang her first Spanish song in over a decade for the movie "La Casa de Mi Padre."
Fernandez completed a tour with Marc Anthony entitled "Dos Voces Un Concierto." He has previously sung the theme song to "Manana es Para Siempre."
The series began shooting on Wednesday, March 6th in Veracruz. "La Tempestad" also stars, Jessica Coch, Diana Bracho, Cesar Evora, Alfonso Herrera, Latin Lover and Luis Manuel Avila. The series is based on the Colombian telenovela "La Tormenta" and is set to air in Mexico on May 13, 2013 on El Canal de la Estrellas.
