Morning talk show host Wendy Williams will be a busy gal this summer as she manages her live weekly show and joins the cast of Broadway's hit musical, Chicago. Announced live on "The Wendy Williams Show," she will play the role of Matron "Mama" Morton - originally performed by Mary McCarty, and Queen Latifah (nominated for Best Supporting Actress Academy Award) in the 2002 motion picture. 'Mama' Morton is the matron of the "Murderess' Row" and has been known to take bribes and supply contraband to the inmates. Though Williams has seen the award-winning film that starred Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renée Zellweger, she admits to never seeing the show on stage.

Wendy first got word of her new venture when 'husbanger' Kevin Hunter informed her of the role at home. "I am beyond excited and no I'm not nervous," reveals Wendy post show taping. She is so happy about her part that she has already memorized the song she performs in Chicago, but is quick to keep things low key until her June 25 debut. "You'll have to come to the theater to see," entices Williams.

This will be Wendy's first time ever on Broadway and may be a bit to take on as her popular morning show will not go on hiatus this summer. Scheduled to perform six nights a week with double shows on the weekend, Williams will only have Wednesdays off and plans to not tape her show on that day. Looking forward to the challenge, Wendy notes her happiness for the busy schedule. "I'm best when I'm working like crazy," notes Wendy.

Rehearsals for Wendy Williams begin on June 3 and will run every day until her June 25 premiere. Wendy Williams will perform in Chicago on Broadway from June 25 through August 11.
