Thus far, the eighth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been a wee bit of a bore, but is moving in the direction of reconciliation for friends Tamra Barney and Vicki Gunvalson. Once inseparable, the former bffs were able to meet up a couple times during the episode in hopes to move forward from last year's explosive argument.

Meeting once at Tamra's new fitness studio (it was pretty humorous that Vicki drove to meet her when she works across the street) and later for dinner, the blonde duo appear to be making progress. Coming to a mutual understanding of what went wrong the season prior, however, may prove to be harder than pulling teeth as Vicki wants Tamra to be nicer, and Tamra wants Vicki to admit to her wrongdoings once and for all (does not appear it will happen). Nevertheless, progress is progress so here's to hoping they can continue in the positive direction.

On a trip to purchase a baby gift for Vicki's new grandson Troy, Tamra and Gretchen Rossi go shopping for a gift where Gretchen has quite the fun imagining being a mother. From rocking a faux belly to taking it one step further with a baby carrier and stroller - it's quite evident that the baby bug has bitten Gretchen in a serious way.

Speaking of babies - my how cast mate Heather Dubrow's cute but feisty toddler Colette made known her appearance at a Yom Kippur event for all the wrong reasons. Prior to the battle, Heather expressed her desires for her plastic surgeon hubby to be more involved and hands on with the children. It's obvious they are wearing her down as she seems to receive little assistance from her other half which may cause some tension between the pair.

The highlight of the show comes from the debut of the newest franchise member, Lydia McLaughlin. Granddaughter to a media mogul, the Canadian 32 year-old has a strong focus of faith and family (mother of two boys), and enjoys the finer things in life. If she sounds a bit like co-star Alexis Bellino, she should - in the sense that they are friends and share many things in common including wearing faux diamond rings (Lydia's was being cleaned at the jeweler). She, however, is different in her own right as she and husband Doug run Beverly Hills Lifestyle, a magazine dedicated to luxury living. Her introduction comes when Heather invites her inside her home after Lydia expresses interest in doing a feature story on her house for her publication. After a private discussion with her husband Terry, Heather informs Lydia it's the cover or nothing at all.

Thought a bit low key for a housewife episode, it looks like things will pick up next week as it's round two of Alexis versus the group at Tamra's party.
