Director Bryan Singer has been actively revealing updates of the production including photos of some sets (Cerebro) and Patrick Stewart in costume.

In addition to Singer, actor Ian McKellen has also been vocal on Twitter. At 1:44 PM EST, he wrote, "The Brotherhood re-assembles in a Montreal studio. ‪#XMen ‪#DaysOfFuturePast."

Two minutes later he teased fans with a spoiler: "Why don't I need a helmet in "Days of Future Past"? That would be telling and I'm not allowed to. ‪#XMen ‪#DaysOfFuturePast"

The film features Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Boo Boo Stewart, Fan Bingbing, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore. The film is slated for a July 18, 2014 release and will follow the July 26,2013 release of James Mangold's "The Wolverine." According to Screenrant, the production team has over 16 months of production time.

The film is Singer's third X-Men feature. He directed the first two in the franchise but stepped away from the director's chair for "X-Men 3." The third film, directed by Brett Ratner, grossed $234.3 million during its theatrical release. Since then, the X-Men franchise has seen a notable dip in revenue. The spin-off film "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" made $179.9 million while "First Class" brought in a franchise low $146.4 million.
