Some things are a laughing matter, and some things are not.

Comedian and actor Kevin Hart got a serious wake-up call yesterday as he was arrested for suspicion of a DUI. The creator and co-star of BET's Real Husbands of Hollywood soon gained the attention of police after they noticed Hart driving recklessly at high speeds. According to reports, Kevin was seen weaving through traffic at 90 mph nearly hitting a gas tanker truck. Upon pulling him over, the cops made the decision to arrest the actor after he failed a sobriety test.

Kevin Hart tweets about experience:

Hart was held at the Van Nuys jail on a $5,000 bond, but was later released. Upon his newfound freedom, Kevin took to Twitter and in classic comedic fashion made a few jokes about his drama-filled experience.

"I did 6,000 pushups and 13,000 sit-ups while I was in the pin...shout out to my celly 'Mark' we exchanged war stories LMFAO," jokes Hart.

Later that morning, Hart put all jokes aside and spoke to the seriousness of his situation. "Drinking and driving is not a game or a laughing matter," says Hart. "People have lost lives because of stupid s&*t [like] this!"

This appears to be the first DUI the comedian has received and hopefully will be his last. "This is a wakeup call for me," adds Kevin. "I have to be smarter and last night - I wasn't."

A former shoe salesman, Kevin Hart has become a rising star acting in movies like The 40 Year Old Virgin, Death at a Funeral, Little Fockers, Think Like a Man and The Five-Year Engagement. He is most noted for his successful comedy specials Seriously Funny, Laugh at My Pain and the BET his faux reality show, The Real Husbands of Hollywood all created under Kevin's production company, Hartbeat Productions. Hart has another comedy special, Let Me Explain that will premiere in theaters July 3.
