The cameras continue to roll on Daft Punk's interview series "The Collaborators." We've seen from the likes of legendary producer Giorgio Moroder and singer/songwriter/producer do-it-all mastermind Todd Edwards, and now Nile Rodgers steps up to the plate.

Each brief interview provides fans with insight into the duo's new upcoming album Random Access Memories, the long awaited studio release that has kept us awake at night, scouring the Internet for leaked tracks and surrounding details, like a subsequent tour for instance, but we all know those chances are slim. Hmph.

In the third installment of the group's interview series, Rodgers, the guitarist/producer/disco legend (Daft Punk has a knack for finding some of the world's best musicians to work with), talks about his own musical legacy and how he enjoyed working with "The Robots," as he so eloquently calls them.

"I feel like I'm working with contemporaries, with people who grew up with me and feel it the same way we felt the vibe when we were creating this stuff," Rodgers says. "They went back to go forward."

Daft Punk will revert back to the disco era on their new album, recreating the funky licks and driving rhythms while adding their own "robot" twist. Their previous albums, Homework, Discovery, and Human After All have all been dubbed revolutionary in the electronic dance genre. Daft Punk are trend setters. They know what sounds good and they share it with the world. They'll labor over a single sound for more than a week, making sure that every little detail is fine tuned to their "robot" ears.

At the end of the interview, Rodgers busts out his guitar and plays a little diddly that he may have contributed to the album. As Daft Punk fans are starving for more material, it's certainly worth checking out. May 21 couldn't come soon enough. Prepare for a complete robot takeover.
