The New Trailer to Matt Damon's new film "Elysium" has been unveiled.

The movie, directed by Neill Blomkamp, is set in the year 2159, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth. The film tells the story of a man who takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.

During last year's San Diego Comic Con, Damon told MTV news "When I saw 'D9,' I felt like, 'Man, this guy, he's created this world that I recognize but I've never seen before. And yet [the film is] performance-based too. Those performances are really good. He clearly knows how to work with actors. This is really great. And so when this kind of fell into my lap, there was no way I was going to turn it down."

Damon was last seen in Gus Van Sant's "Promised Land" and "We Bought a Zoo." His next projects include the HBO film "Behind the Candelabra" and "The Zero Theorem." He will also reunite with George Clooney for "The Monuments Men."

"Elysium" marks Blomkamp's follow up to the 2009 Academy Award nominee "District 9." The film garnered rave reviews and was nominated for four Oscars.

The film also stars Jodie Foster, Diego Luna, Alice Braga, and Sharlto Copley. Sony Pictures will release it on August 9th.
