Bayern Munich clinched the German Bundesliga title with its 1-0 win over Eintract Frankfurt. The victory, Munich's 11th straight, gave Munich its 23rd championship.

Munich achieved its title faster than ever before; this team won the tournament in its 28th match. The 1972-73 and 2002-03 teams had won the title in its 30th match, the previous record for the Bayern Munich. "We have played a magnificent season," Manager Uli Hoeness stated after the victory. "Rarely has a team won the title in such dominant fashion. In all of the years I have been at Bayern, I cannot remember us being so superior or such clear champions with six games to go."

Munich now has 75 points, 20 more than second place Borussia Dortmund with only six games and 18 possible points remaining.

"We've got the title now, but things move on," said Arjen Robben. "We have got to keep our cool because we still have some important games to come. We want even more from this season and since we are still in two competitions, we want to win them both."

With the victory, Munich can now focus on its quarterfinals match with Juventus this Wednesday; Munich won the first leg 2-0 and heads to Italy for the second. With a 2-0 advantage, Munich can play a conservative style and attempt for the away goal that would likely clinch a Champions league semifinals berth.
