Eager Grand Theft Auto 5 fans now have another reason to pre-order the game as Microsoft is offering a handful of MS points to those who purchase the game through the Microsoft Store.
Heading over to the Microsoft Store and pre-ordering Grand Theft Auto 5 for $59.99 will net buyers 1,600 MS points, which translates to $20 - enough to buy another game on Xbox Live or outfit avatars with plenty of flashy new duds.
The offer, obviously, only applies to Xbox 360 owners, and gamers who plan on nabbing the game for the PlayStation 3 will have to look elsewhere for pre-order deals before the game's Sept. 17 release.
While many aspects of Grand Theft Auto 5 are still under wraps, Rockstar has been slowly leaking new media over the last couple weeks, including new screenshots and the official box art for the game. Ambitious gamers can even head over to 194 7th Avenue, New York, NY to see a giant, in-progress mural of the box art that Rockstar has commissioned.
Grand Theft Auto 5 will take place in the fictional city of Los Santos, based on Los Angeles, and will be Rockstar's biggest open world yet. Planes are making a return to the series, and gamers will be able to indulge in plenty of debauchery through activities such as scuba diving and sightseeing. The game will also mark a new first for the series: three main protagonists. Players will be able to switch between the characters on the fly, and completing some missions will require the use of all of them.
As of now, Grand Theft Auto 5 is only confirmed for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, although rumors are floating around about PC and next-gen versions.
