With all the April Fools' trickery out of the way, it's time for some real "50 Shades of Grey" action. Various actors and websites may have fooled us earlier in the week, but we're putting it in the past and looking forward. No more Scarlett Johansson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Sheridan Smith rumors, it's time to focus on whom we really want to star in the "50 Shades" movie.
"The Vampire Diaries" Ian Somerhalder remains the top fan-favorite contender for the role of Christian Grey. In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Somerhalder revealed that he locked eyes with a "50 Shades" customer in a bookstore checkout line, and apparently they "totally had a moment."
"You could see her blushing for a second. She saw that I saw the book, and I just smiled at her and said, 'It's a good read, huh?' And she goes, 'this is so embarrassing." What would his star girlfriend Nina Dobrev have to say about his "moment" with the bookshop customer? You better watch your step Somerhalder.
"Everybody's up for this role, but in her mind, just from seeing the media, I was that guy." It seems as though Somerhalder is confident in his current position as fan-favorite, but hopefully he won't get too big headed.
As for the role of Anastasia Steele, a new bombshell contender has entered the arena, and that's British model Poppy Delevingne, older sister of top model Cara Delevingne. The 26-year-old may not have Ana's dark hair, but her seductive look is perfect for the character. Besides, a quick trip to the salon and those golden locks will be yesterday's news. She has yet to branch away from modeling and begin her acting career, but she's ready and willing.
Daily Mail reports "Poppy is increasingly keen to succeed as an actress in light of her sister's success. She feels that the time is right to redefine herself professionally."
She may not be an actress, but her look is what's most important to the Anastasia role. Besides, If she's working alongside Ian Somerhalder, then who cares? The duo would look fabulous on the big screen.
What do you think?
