For Tiger Woods, love and success are in the air these days.
Woods is rolling onwards as the new No.1 in the world of professional golf after winning at the Bay Hill tournament earlier this week. His third tournament win in 2013, Woods has seemingly been flying high in a major rebound year since he begun dating Olympic champion skier Lindsey Vonn.
The pair confirmed the rumors of their relationship on Facebook last week.
Now ranked No.1 in the world in golf for the first time since 2010, Woods has his sights set on Augusta National, which will host the prestigious PGA Masters tournament beginning April 11. No stranger to triumph on the greens of the storied golf course, Woods has won four Masters tournaments in 1997, 2001, 2002 and 2005.
But Woods' recent fortunes on the green could be linked to the newfound state of peace that he has found off the golf course. Woods' life tail-spinned into chaos after he crashed his car outside his home on Thanksgiving weekend in 2009 in an odd scene that helped to leak out details and allegations of his extramarital affairs that resulted in his divorce from then-wife Elin Nordegren.
Trouble off the golf course seemed to follow Woods as he was swinging the irons, as he slowly plummeted in the golf rankings until he reached his lowest point in November 2011, where he dropped to No. 58 in the world.
However, Woods seems to have regrouped since then as his showing at Bay Hill showed. Woods finished at 13-under 275 to take the tournament, his victory marking the first time Woods has won consecutive tourneys since 2009.
"It feels good to know that all the hard work has paid off to get me to this point," Woods told the New York Times after the tournament.
Part of that may be attributed to Vonn, whom guarded her relationship with Woods very tightly, refusing to speak about her private life until she and Woods posted pictures of themselves together on Facebook last week.
In her message on Facebook, Vonn reiterated that she didn't want to address her relationship any further, only stating that her friendship with Woods over the last few months developed into something more, "and it has made me very happy."
With his off-the-course life getting back in kilter and his swing strong as ever, Woods looks primed for a fifth Masters title next month.
