After news broke of a stolen "Breaking Bad" script, fans closely monitored the web for any leaked information regarding the return of the show's final season. AMC has always remains secretive, leaving desperate fans high and dry. Unfortunately, no juicy details have surfaced, but what did find its way into the hands of "Breaking Bad" fans is a recorded 911 call actor Bryan Cranston made when he initially reported the theft.
Whereas most people may have been a bit shaken up, Cranston remained calm and reposed with police when reporting the incident. Perhaps either part of his cold, impenetrable "Breaking Bad" character has rubbed off on him, or he knows he has the money to replace any missing items, or the entire car for that matter.
"I need to report a breaking and entering into my automobile," Cranston says. It happened "way up top of the hill... it happened an hour ago. They broke my passenger window, and I'm on my way to Albuquerque Audi to turn it in."
The window cost Cranston a measly $600, but the invaluable script has yet to be recovered. It has also yet to be leaked. A silver lining. Along with the script, Cranston lost an iPad and other miscellaneous personal items.
On Friday, Xavier McAfee, 29, was taken into custody for felony burglary and Bernalillo County, N. M. Police confirmed that he had broken into Cranston's car and stolen his belongings and coveted script.
"We received info from a confidential informant that he knew of an individual having a script from 'Breaking Bad' and wanted to know if anyone wanted to buy an iPad," Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department spokesman Aaron Williamson said on Friday. The source ratted on McAfee after he was seen bragging at a local bar about his newfound treasures.
"We don't know if it was one scene of the whole season," Williamson said, "but I know they are trying to keep tight wraps on this final season and how it is going to end."
That's the truth. Almost excruciatingly so. Although the script may be in the wrong hands, it may result in a pleasant surprise for eager fans.
