Grand Theft Auto 5 is one of the most anticipated games coming out this year, but Rockstar Games has been fairly quiet on updating fans as to what they can expect from the game. This has not been intentional from the developers, but merely a side effect of the company working diligently on finishing the game on time.
Rockstar has released several statements in the comments section for the game's official release date announcement, telling fans that they have been running silent so they can focus on the game.
"Sorry, we can't provide a timeline as to when you can expect more info or media from GTAV. Right now we're just bunkered down busy working on the game and aren't ready to share anything new - please be patient and of course there will be more to see in the months leading up to game release. Thank you," the developer explained.
An additional motivation for the developers silence is that they do not want to report any false information to fans, such as features getting dropped, and that they want to have surprises in store for players once they actually get their hand's on the game.
"We do it because we want to make sure we only release 100% correct information, and because we want to keep plenty back for the actual game release so there are still lots of surprises when you play it," Rockstar said.
While some fans may get upset that Rockstar has not given fans more information about the game, they should remember that the developer is under no obligation to do so, and should appreciate that they are hard at work making sure the game is up to the standards the previous games in the series have set.
