It is a big day for T-Mobile as the fourth largest U.S. carrier holds their "UNcarrier" event in New York City.
Although T-Mobile has not directly specified event details, a new report strengthens speculation that the event could mark the debut of Apple products on T-Mobile's network.
According to CNET, a source familiar with today's launch plans confirmed the carrier will announce Apple's iPhone to their brand.
While a T-Mobile representative declined to comment on the matter, if true, it would finally make the iPhone available across the four major mobile carriers since the Apple smartphone's 2007 launch.
The possible launch of the iPhone with T-Mobile comes after the carrier announced it will cover 100 million customers with 4G LTE coverage. So far, eight cities were detected with T-Mobile 4G LTE: Denver, Las Vegas, Kansas City, New Orleans, New York, San Diego, San Jose, and Seattle. T-Mobile hopes to reach 200 million customers by the end of the year.
It is not known which exact model of the Apple iPhone T-Mobile will offer.
Latinos Post did report on the possible iPhone debut. T-Mobile has stated it was ultimately Apple's decision for not signing with the carrier due to tech developments.
"The issue remains that Apple has not developed a version of the iPhone with technology that works on our fast 3G and 4G networks," a T-Mobile statement read, dating back late 2011.
T-Mobile has also launched a new data plan with 500MB for $50 and ditched annual contracts.
What is unsure is if T-Mobile will comment on the merger talks with MetroPCS.
The T-Mobile New York City event is scheduled for 11 a.m. EDT.
