As hinted during CES 2013, T-Mobile is introducing major changes, starting with its data plans.
The fourth-largest carrier in the U.S. has introduced the 500MB Included data plan. For only $50 per month, T-Mobile customers will have unlimited talk, text, and web at data speeds reaching up to 500MB.
With the plan, no annual contract is necessary. T-Mobile customers will have unlimited nationwide and T-Mobile-to-T-Mobile calling. Smartphone Mobile HotSpot service is included with the 500MB plan.
Additional services include:
- Call forwarding,
- Call hold,
- Call waiting,
- Caller ID,
- Conference calling,
- Customer Care,
- Directory assistance (although charges can apply),
- Voicemail with Message-Waiting Indicators.
T-Mobile does offer two additional data plans with 2GB and the Unlimited Nationwide 4G, in addition to the original 500MB speed. The two additional plans maintain many features to the 500MB plan such as no annual contract, unlimited talk and text, and choice of additional high-speed add-ons.
The price for the 2GB plan is $60 while the Unlimited Nationwide 4G is $70. The prices do not reflect additional feeds customers can add to their plans and federal and state taxes.
T-Mobile latest move comes as it confirmed it will blanket up to 100 million customers with 4G LTE. As Latinos Post reported, OpenSignal has detected eight cities with T-Mobile 4G LTE.
"The fact that our app has detected a T-Mobile LTE network in these cities suggests that they will be included in the initial LTE rollout," said OpenSignal spokesman Samuel Johnston.
The eight cities include Las Vegas, New York, San Diego, and Seattle.
T-Mobile aims to cover 200 million customers by the end of the year.
T-Mobile's announcement makes it the last among the top four U.S. carriers to venture in 4G LTE, following AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon Wireless.
