New adware Trojans were reported in Apple's Mac operating systems.
According to the Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web, adware for Mac OS X have been increasing since the start of the year. The latest adware, named "Trojan.Yontoo.1" is said to be the "most prominent" of the adwares.
"Criminals profit from affiliate ad network programs, and their interest in users of Apple-compatible computers grows day by day," noted Doctor Web.
Such Trojans can make their way to into computers by impersonating movie trailers prompting Mac users to install a browser plugin.
"Criminals have also provided for a number of alternative ways to spread this threat," Doctor Web added. "The Trojan can also be downloaded as a media player, a video quality enhancement program or a download accelerator."
When the Trojan.Yontoo.1 is installed, it asks the user if they want to install Free Twit Tube. Instead of installing Free Twit Tube, Trojans are instead downloaded, and it can target Apple's Safari, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox browsers.
