Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is launching next week, and Nintendo has one last little update before it hits stores. The game's Download Play capabilities have been revealed, they seem pretty extensive.
Dark Moon will include both local and online multiplayer modes, as well as Download Play features for up to four players. According to a post by Nintendo World Report, up to three other players can connect to a host game's multiplayer session without owning the game. Additionally, and somewhat surprising, players who've downloaded the game from the host system can continue to play even if the host disconnects.
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon will launch on March 24 in the US, and on March 28 in Europe exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. The European version will be titled Luigi's Mansion 2.
It was originally announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo during the Nintendo press conference in 2011. It will feature similar gameplay to its Gamecube predecessor, with Luigi tasked with capturing ghosts using the specialized vacuum cleaner. It was developed by Next Level Games and published by Nintendo.
