On Thursday, H&M announced that global superstar Beyonce is the new face for its 2013 summer campaign.
The multi-platinum entertainer, who will kick off her sold out Mrs. Carter Show World Tour on April 15, will star in television and print ads wearing key pieces from H&M's summer collection. According to a press release from the Swedish retailer, Beyonce represents "the idea that all women can be all things: strong, vulnerable, sensual, maternal, fun, flirtatious."
The clothing will be available in May in H&M stores worldwide and online.
"I've always liked H&M's focus on fun and affordable fashion," says Queen Bey, according to the press release. "I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements - fire, water, earth and wind. It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial."
In the ads, Beyonce is seen wearing a bodycon dress, sun dress and fringed bikinis. H&M officials said the collection was not only influenced by Beyonce's personal style, but that the "Single Ladies" singer had input in the designs.
The campaign footage was shot in Nassau, Bahamas while the commercial also features a new song from Beyoncé called Standing On The Sun, which will be available worldwide online and hm.com beginning in May.
H&M Creative Director Donald Schneider described collaborating with the award-winning songstress as "an epic fantasy."
25% of sales from the H&M for Water collection will be donated to H&M for WaterAid.
