Elena has taken a turn for the worse, or perhaps the better. Although her new soul-less attitude is taking its toll on Mystic Falls, Elena's new self may be more entertaining to watch. Her brutal truth and zombielike delivery make the show that much more amusing. "Bring It On" sets the tone for the remaining season four episodes as Elena reacts to the death of her only remaining blood relative, Jeremy, and the loss of her humanity.
The episode begins with Elena feasting on an innocent bystander, her first in a long time. Damon scolds Elena for killing, but Elena's addresses the issue passively and seems to brush it off, which could mean we're in for an Elena killing spree.
Elena later exits Salvatore's vervain-free shower naked, catching both Damon and Stefan by surprise. She then quips at her two men, "What? It's nothing you haven't seen before." Elena 2.0 is coming in strong.
Elena is then seen back cheerleading, eyeing a particular girl on the squad as her next feeding victim. Once again, Elena killing spree? Elena's performance is poor at best as she fails to catch Caroline at the end of the routine. This strikes both Stefan and Caroline as odd and they decide to keep a closer eye on Elena. Stefan goes as far to attack her with a dose of vervain to put her down and take her home.
Elena later wakes from her vervain-induced nap and naturally decides to throw a big party at the Salvatore house. It's what we'd expect from the new and 'improved' Elena.
Amidst all the Elena drama, Damon and Rebekah talk about finding the cure regardless of the broken sire bond. Damon goes on to admit, "Life sucks when you're ordinary." Now back to Elena. After a fight breaks out between her and Caroline, the two battle it out almost ending in Caroline's true death. Caroline reacts strongly to the incident and is consoled by Stefan, who says that she's only the worst version of herself while her emotions are off.
At the end of the episode, Caroline arrives at Tyler's house only to find Matt and a letter revealing that Tyler won't be returning to Mystic Falls to avoid Klaus. To make things worse, he left Matt the deed to the house.
