Minecraft's 1.5 update, also known as the Redstone update, is finally here. The new, and much anticipated, content will be automatically patched in the next time you run the game.
As per the name, the update mainly revolves around the many, many uses for Redstone. For example, the new Daylight Sensor allows circuits to be triggered depending on the time of day. That's some fancy stuff.
The 1.5 update also tweaks the current texture packs, and adds animated texture functionality.
Mojang isn't stopping there however. In the official Mojang blog, the team revealed "that .5.1 already is on its way," and that they "plan to snapshot [the update] tomorrow, and hopefully get it out as soon as possible."
