A new leaked photo shows the Samsung Galaxy S4 battery taken from a model in China. The battery is rated at 2,600mAh, and like the battery in its predecessor, the Galaxy S III, it has NFC (Near Field Communication) capabilities.
The tech, which allows data transfers between phones in close proximity (remember Bump?) is standard on high-end smartphones these days, so it's no surprise the Galaxy S IV has it. But it's noteworthy that it's in the battery, and not located in the battery cover as it is in the Galaxy Note II, Samsung's smartphone/tablet hybrid.
In addition, Samsung released the second part of its cloying "Jeremy" series of videos teasing the Mar. 14 launch of the S IV. The wunderkind arrives home with his secret package, dodging nosy neighbors and parents. There's no new information about the phone, but it is in Jeremy's "favorite color."
I can't imagine wanting anything this kid likes. The Galaxy S III came in white and pebble blue, so perhaps the "favorite color" line means there will be a range of options to choose from, which should be easy for Samsung to implement, given that the body of the phone is almost definitely plastic. Certainly the phone won't just come in white, black or silver.
The Samsung Galaxy S IV will be revealed at a huge launch event in New York's Times Square on Mar. 14. Samsung's flagship phone is expected to feature a quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 4.99-inch Full HD AMOLED display, a 13 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video and come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
