A lot went down during the thirteenth episode of the third season of "The Walking Dead" this week. The war between Rick and the Governor came to a pause as the factions 'negotiated' terms for a ceasefire. The first scene of the show starts with Rick, Darryl and Hershel on a farm where they are seen discreetly scouting the area. Rick then enters a barn on the property where a table and two chairs are located. The Governor, shrouded by shadow, appears from the dark spaces of the barn unarmed and says that he wants to speak with Rick.
As the leaders speak Martinez and Milton accompany Andrea, Daryl and Hershel outside the barn.Rick insists on a border that be drawn, but the Governor does not acquiesce to the proposal and insists that he is only there to accept the surrender of Rick's group. The Governor ultimately reaches a point where he offers peace to Rick as long as he surrenders Michonne in two days at the barn.
Merle, concerned for the well being of his brother, insists that the group storm the meeting and assassinate the Governor while they have the chance. Glenn assumes the role of leader in Rick's absence and ultimately prevents Merle from carrying out his plan with the assistance of the Maggie and Micchone.
Back at Woodbury, the Governor reveals his plans to ambush and kill Rick and his crew after the trasaction with Michonne. Meanwhile, RIck tells the group at the prison to prepare for war. In private, however, he confides in Hershel that he is considering turning Micchone over despite his reservations about the Governor's trustworthiness.
