Benches cleared in an ugly brawl during a game between Mexico and Canda at the World Baseball Classic tournament in Arizona on Saturday.

The fight ensued in the top of the ninth inning after Mexico pitcher Arnold Leon hit Canada outfielder Rene Tosoni in the back with a fastball. Prior ot the pitch both benches were given a warning by the umpire after Leon threw an inside pitch that raised the hairs on Tosoni's back.

But once Tosoni got hit he was clearly upset and couldn't wait to return the favor to Leon. Mexico catcher Sebastian Vale stepped in between both players but to no avail as players from both teams duked it out on the infield.

Considered to be the goodwill games of baseball, Saturday's match was anything but that as seven players were ejected. Among them were Arnold Leon, Oliver Perez and Eduardo Arredondo of Mexico and Tosoni, Pete Orr and Jay Johnson of Canada, the Associated Press reports.

Fans even got into the mix when a team Mexico supporter threw a water bottle at the Canadian pitching coach. That drew the attention of already pissed off Canada shortstop Cale Iorg who made the stupid decision of throwing it back into the stands.

Law enforcement eventually stepped in to calm the stands when several scuffles erupted.

World Baseball Classic officials say they will review tapes from the game to see if any disciplinary action is necessary, reports say.

Mexico lost the game, the final score was 10 to 4.
