Next month, Spider-Man and his film crew will shoot scenes from "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" in the downtown area of New York City.
The 250 member film crew will occupy Manhattan's Financial District at the 20 Exchange Place building from April 22 to 24 and on April 29th, reports DNA Info. However, it will be business as usual in the streets of FiDi as the production of the blockbuster movie wil shoot inside of the historic high-rise building, therefore eliminating the need for street closures.
On Wednesday, location manager Jason Farrar told members of Community Board 1's Financial District committee that he promised to be a good neighborhood and that the production of the film will cause minimal disruption in the already highly congested area. Yet, the space that their production trucks and generators will absorb along the narrow and crowded roadways is inescapable.
To show their appreciation for the space, the crew will support local restaurants in the area rather than having their meals catered. The movie team also plans to donate to good causes in the area like TriBeCa's Manhattan Youth community center and Pace University's Upward Bound, a college preparatory program and grant fund.
The building at 20 Exchange Place has also been featured in other major films including "The Adjustment Bureau," starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt, and "Inside Man" featuring Denzel Washington.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is scheduled to hits theaters on May 2, 2014 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx and Shailene Woodley.
