Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is getting its first batch of DLC next week. Titled the "VR Mission Pack," the new content will include additional singleplayer challenges.

The DLC will be released on March 12 in North America, and March 13 in Europe. It will feature 30 VR challenge missions, including one where you'll pilot a Dwarf Gekko Metal Gear tank.

It will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 3 in North America, where it will be free to download from March 12 through April 3. In Europe, it will be available for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and will cost £1.99 or 240 Microsoft Points.

Konami also announced that a second DLC pack is incoming and is titled "Jetstream." It will be a singleplayer side story following the origins of the game's villain, Jetstream Sam.

A third DLC is also in development. Titled "Blade Wolf," it will feature Raiden's robot dog partner LQ-84i as a playable character in its own origin story.

The latter two packs have only been announced, and no release date has been set yet.

Additionally, Konami announced a fourth DLC in Japan, "Snake Soul Wooden Sword," but this was not confirmed for a North American or European release. The content features a downloadable sword that contains the soul of Solid Snake, and speaks in his voice during the game. Whether or not this is a Japanese exclusive is still unknown.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is currently out on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It was released on Feb. 19 to positive reviews and strong sales numbers, topping Japan's Media Create and Enterbrain Japan charts list. It debuted in the United Kingdom at number two, just behind Crysis 3.

Due to the strong sales numbers, Platinum Games and Hideo Kojima have expressed an interest in developing a sequel, although nothing official has been announced.
