The trailer to Emma Watson's new film "The Bling Ring" has been released.
The film, Inspired by actual events, tells the story of a group of fame-obsessed teenagers who use the Internet to track celebrities' whereabouts in order to rob their homes.
The film is written, produced and directed by Academy Award winner Sofia Coppola and also stars Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Claire Pfister, Georgia Rock and Carlos Miranda
A24 Entertainment will release "Ring" which has already gotten compared to Harmony Korrine's "Spring Breakers" starring Selena Gomez, and Vanessa Hudgens, do to the subject matter. Like "Ring," "Breakers" tells the story of 4 college girls robbing to go on Spring Break. Both films star teen idols and show the actresses in nude, violence, and drug related content.
Watson last starred in "The Perks of Being Wallflower" for which she was awarded Best Supporting Actress at the San Diego Film Critics. She is currently in talks to star in Disney's live action adaptation of "Cinderella" and will next be seen in Darren Aronofsky's "Noah" with Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connolly, and Anthony Hopkins.
Coppola last directed the Venice Film Festival winner "Somewhere" with Stephen Dorf and Elle Fanning. She also directed "Maria Antoniette" with Kirsten Dunst and won her Oscar for "Lost in Translation."
The movie was shot in Nevada and California and was also produced by Coppola's brother Roman Coppola and Youree Henley. The film will be dedicated to the late cinematographer Harris Savides who shot the movie.
"The Bling Ring" will be released on June 14 with the trailer to be shown in front of "Spring Breakers."
