The Calgary Flames look to extend their winning streak to four games when they take on the Anaheim Ducks.
The Flames are coming off a resounding 4-1 win over the San Jose Sharks that featured the return of starting goalie Mikka Kiprusoff from injury. Kiprusoff had been injured in the second period of a Feb. 5 tilt against the Red Wings; he missed 13 games.
"I felt that he was solid right from the get-go," Coach Bob Hartley said. "He was seeing all the pucks and that's such a good feeling for guys on the bench, for coaches, and probably for fans."
"We played a really strong game," said Kiprusoff after the win. "You know with a team like that, at some point they're going to get shots, but we were able to play smart. We knew they were going to open up and we were
The Ducks are also coming off a major 2-0 win against the Phoenix Coyotes that saw them snap a two-game losing streak. Goalie Jonas Hiller made 18 saves and earned the shutout.
"We came out and played the game we wanted to," said Anaheim Captain Ryan Getzlaf. "That was a lot better defensive effort. We shut them down. Goaltending played great and didn't allow any second chances. It was a good healthy game."
"We were mad that we gave up four goals the last two games and we know solid defense is going to win you more than just games," added head coach Bruce Boudreau. "It's going to win division titles and championships. I thought Hilly did a great job."
Predictions: Anaheim wins 3-2.
