Fans who purchased the new Tomb Raider game on the Xbox 360 will be receiving exclusive DLC. The upcoming content will be packaged as "Caves and Cliffs," and will include new multiplayer maps.
Caves and Cliffs adds a total of three maps: The Burning Village, Cliff Shantytown, and Scavenger Caves. Each of them was inspired by a level from the singleplayer campaign. Each of the maps will fully support all of the four existing multiplayer game modes.
The Xbox 360 exclusive DLC was originally announced at last year's E3, and will arrive on March 19. It will cost 400 Microsoft Points or $5. While it is currently only available on Microsoft's console, it may arrive on the PC and PlayStation 3 at an unspecified date in the future.
Tomb Raider launched earlier this week to significant critical acclaim. It currently holds an 86/100 on Metacritic, and a 86% on GameRankings.
The game is currently available through stores, online retailers, and digital distribution platforms. A Japanese release has been planned for April 25th.Tomb
Although it is the tenth Tomb Raider title, the game is a reboot of sorts, providing a new origin story for the iconic Lara Croft. It is the first Tomb Raider game to be given an M rating by the Entertainment Software Rating Board, as well as the first one to feature competitive multiplayer modes.
The title was developed by Crystal Dynamics, and published by Square Enix.
