After a string of potentially misleading and downright fake leaks about the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S4, it looks like some actual screenshots are confirming much of the tech that's supposed to debut inside the new smartphone next week.
GSM Israel says the new screenshots come from an American version of the S IV, providing more evidence to the rumor that, like the Galaxy S III, the S IV will come in two versions, one with an in-house Samsung Exynos 5 eight-core processor for the European market, and a more traditional Qualcomm Snapdragon for the American market.
Here are the specs the screenshots reveal:
5-inch Display
Resolution 1080 x 1920 pixels, 480PPI
Quad-core processor, ARMv7 1.8Ghz
13-megapixel camera (4128 x 3096 pixels, 4:3 aspect ratio)
"It looks like the Galaxy S4 will be getting a new TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0, a revamped settings menu, a Full HD display as well as some of the Smart Scroll and Smart Pause features we talked about yesterday," Ubergizmo writes. "The screenshots also seem to confirm a 1.8GHz quad-core processor, suggesting that this could be the American variant of the Galaxy S4."
SlashGear concurs. "So what we've got is a Samsung Galaxy S4 with a few new 'smart' features and a top-tier set of specifications in its screen and its processor," SlashGear writes. "It's still quite likely that we'll be seeing a Samsung Exynos processor in this device as it appears abroad and a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside the USA as we did with the Galaxy S III."
