Cristina Saralegui, the Cuban American talk show host of the once immensely popular show (among the Hispanic community), 'El Show de Cristina', recently announced her endorsement of President Obama.

Saralegui is looked up to as a role model among Hispanics/Latinos not only in the U.S. but also throughout Latin America and on Monday, June 18, her website, CristinaOnline, released a statement of her support towards Obama.

The website also posted a video where Saralegui is seen voicing out her opinion on Obama's work on issues such as social security and Medicare in addition to explaining how his administration has supported Latinos just like her.

"I came to this country when I was 12 years old...Since then I have sat back and watched many elections come and go, and because of what I see in President Obama and know he's accomplished, I decided to get involved. President Obama...believes that everyone who works hard and plays by the rules, should have a fair shot at the American dream," Cristina said.

Then, she continued on by involving the Hispanic voters with, "He understands the Hispanic community and has supported it unconditionally and that is why I was moved to endorse and campaign for our President's reelection. This is a critical time for our country and for the Hispanic community. Hispanics could very well decide the next election and I will do everything I can from now until November to ensure that President Obama is re-elected.

The OBAMA FOR AMERICA campaign informed that it is the first time Saralegui has actively participated in a presidential campaign.

Saralegui's famed show ran for 21 years before being cancelled in November of 2010. She is many times referred to as the Spanish speaking "Oprah".
