BlackBerry is hoping to rebound in the smartphone market with the BlackBerry Z10, but so is Nokia with their Lumia 920 - let's see how they stand up against each other on paper.
BlackBerry and Nokia have made efforts to make their devices available in 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE networks.
While both devices' screens are over four-inches, all that differs is 0.3 inches. The screen of the BlackBerry Z10 stands at 4.2 inches with 1,280x768 pixels and 355 pixels per inch (ppi). The Lumia 920 that has a slightly larger screen with the same pixel resolution, but smaller ppi at 4.5 inches and 332 ppi.
When it comes to memory, the Lumia 920 is only available with 32GB internal storage model and 1GB of RAM. The BlackBerry Z10 has a small internal storage model of 16GB but in return has 2GB of RAM. In addition, the BlackBerry smartphone offers a microSD card slot for up to 64GB of additional storage.
The Lumia 920 and BlackBerry Z10 have similar wireless connectivity. The two smartphones share Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth version 4.0, microUSB version 2.0, and Near Field Communication (NFC).
The photography for both Nokia and BlackBerry devices are also the same. The rear-facing cameras for the Lumia 920 and BlackBerry Z10 have 8 megapixels with 3,264x2,448 pixels. Users can record at 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps) as well. The difference comes with the front-facing camera which puts out 1.3 megapixels for the Nokia device while the BlackBerry Z10 has a 2-megapixel shooter. Video recording with the front-facing camera is the same at 720p at 30fps.
The mobile operating systems are different. Nokia utilizes Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 as BlackBerry 10 OS runs for the BlackBerry Z10.
The battery capacity is slightly better in the Nokia smartphone. The BlackBerry Z10's battery capacity is 1,800 mAH while the Lumia 920 stands at 2,000 mAh. With the mAh noted, the standby time for the BlackBerry Z10 lasts up to 312 hours while talk time can go up to 10 hours. The standby time for the Lumia 920 is 400 hours and talk time can last up to 10 hours under 3G network connectivity.
For color variety, the Lumia 920 takes the crown. The Windows Phone 8 smartphone is available in black, gray, red, yellow and white. The BlackBerry 10 OS smartphone is available in black and white.
