The Chicago Blackhawks will look to extend their historic streak to 24 games when they host the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday night.

On Tuesday, the Blackhawks faced the Minnesota Wild; one of the three teams to defeat Chicago in the shootout this season. The Blackhawks jumped out to a tremendous 4-1 lead that included two goals from Bryan Bickell. Minnesota would eventually draw closer, but Chicago ultimately pulled out a 5-3 win. The victory was Chicago's 10th straight win. With the win, the Blackhawks also extended their point streak to 29 games, dating back to last season; it is the second longest point streak in NHL history. "It has been a fun start to our season. The guys are approaching each and every game as a new challenge. Our opponents every game have been excited about playing us as well," said Coach Joel Quenneville. "Our four or five last games have been great games. We've been fortunate in some of them but I still like the way we've been playing."

The Colorado Avalanche were victims to strong goaltending from Detroit's Jimmy Howard on Tuesday night. The goalie stopped 36 of 37 shots in a 2-1 victory over Colorado.

"The difference was really a couple of bounces for them and one hot goalie for them," goaltender Jean Sebastian Giguere said.

"He was incredible tonight," Colorado captain Gabriel Landeskog added. "We played a good game. We did everything we could do except score."

Prediction: Chicago will not win every single game this season. This should be a wide open match and I think Colorado pulls the upset and wins 4-2.
