Official pictures of the 2014 Corvette Stingray convertible have been released by General Motors.

The topless C7 is expected to make its debut at the Geneva auto show this month. Although questionable photographs surfaced around the virtual realm in early January, the newly released images display the hot rod in all its drop-top glory straight from the automaker itself.

The fixed-top model of the 2014 Stingray was unveiled at the Detroit auto show in a worldwide live stream that had the global car community drooling over its stylish new looks and high-performance modifications.

But now the Vette enthusiasts everywhere can see the sports car in its most natural state---outfitted with a drop-top.

The GM images show the convertible Stingray with a folding fabric top and is expected to use the same powertrain as its fixed-top counterpart: 6.2-liter eight-cylinder engine that pumps out 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. And while the coupe rendition of the 2014 Stingray is expected to go on sale in the fall, no pricing or on-sale date has been made available for the convertible version.

But eager Vette fans will have to wait until the official debut of the drop-top at the Geneva auto show to find out more details about the convertible, which is expected to operate via a single button that can be employed even while moving at a slow speed.

The president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe, Susan Docherty, said that the seventh generation convertible will be unveiled in Geneva, "Because Corvette is the face of the Chevrolet the word over. It is an icon that has long been recognized and admired even in countries where it's never officially been offered."
